Debbie Stitzer-Brame, Executive Director of EDMARC Hospice for Children discusses EDMARC's mission here on the Peninsula and Southside. EDMARC is a non-profit organization with a mission "to ease the trauma of a child's illness or death, and to reduce the disabling effects of pediatric illness, loss, and bereavement on families". Club President Darcy Terry thanks Dr. Beverlee Engle for her program on "Raising and Training Service Dog Teams to Empower the Disabled". The Jasmine Charitable Trust, located in Hampton, Va., and operated by Dr. Engle runs this non-profit program.

Denbigh Kiwanis "Joy of Reading" program helps improve Literacy. Darcy Terry, President of the Denbigh Kiwanis Club reads to children at Denbigh Early Childhood Center(DECC).
June 10 was a special day at DECC in Newport News, First, because it was the last day of pre-K for these excited 4-5 year olds who were ready for their summer vacation. Denbigh Kiwanis 3rd Annual DENBIGH-B-QUE Festival Survives Threatening Weather
A good crowd, undaunted by the threat of rain enjoyed a day of great food and excellent music. Menchville High School Band kicked off the day at the opening ceremony. "Crazy House Band" entertained in the afternoon and the main attraction, "Slapwater" provided the evening entertainment.
The Menu included Larry Church's famous barbecue, JP's tasty ribs, cole slaw, potato salad and Cheryl Terry's baked beans.
